Arezzo welcomes back Italia Legno Energia: the wood and pellet heating exhibition

Arezzo will host the year’s only Italian event in the field from 22 to 24 March 2019

The biennial Italia Legno Energia exhibition is the only biomass-based event of its kind in Italy in 2019. The new event has established itself as a key date in the diary for members of the wood- and pellet-fired heating industry. It covers the whole cycle in the field and offers a growing focus on one of the most significant districts for the local economy.

Italia Legno Energia is organized by Piemmeti SpA, a subsidiary of Veronafiere. In even years, the company organizes Progetto Fuoco in Verona, which is the biggest event in the world in this field.

Italia Legno Energia keeps on growing, as underlined by the numbers: 25,000 m² of exhibition space, 186 exhibitors (including 62 from outside Italy) and 19,500 visitors, including people from all of the regions of Italy.

The following product categories will be on display in the halls at Arezzo exhibition centre and the adjacent outdoor areas: Fireplaces, stoves, ranges and barbecues; Boilers and large systems fuelled by biomass; Pellets, wood chips and firewood; Pellet machines; Stove setting and accessories.

One of the objectives of Italia Legno Energia 2019 is to raise awareness among end consumers of the benefits of short production chains and biomass: cost effectiveness, sustainability, safety and access to renewable heat incentives. These advantages are also of particular interest to people in the field of agritourism, farmers and public authorities.

It is no coincidence that the chosen venue for the event is in Tuscany, which has no fewer than 1.19 million hectares of woods and forests. This puts it just behind Sardinia (the region with the largest amount of woodland in Italy, with 1.24 million hectares) and ahead of Piedmont (995,000 hectares).

“From the very first edition, Italia Legno Energia has been a flagship event for all of the leading names in the wood energy industry,” explained Raul Barbieri, the CEO of Piemmeti SpA. “As well as manufacturers, it attracts installers, retailers and designers. At the only Italian event in the field in 2019, they will come together to share accurate information and details of the benefits and good practices in a vibrant industry, which the public is increasingly addressing with a rightly diligent approach.”

“Factors such as cost effectiveness, sustainability and – last but not least – access to renewable heat incentives paint a picture of a very positive and appealing industry. In addition, they have now been joined by outstanding performance and exceptional designs,” underlined Ado Rebuli, the President of Piemmeti SpA. “They present new, beneficial prospects for a market that is increasingly demanding when it comes to energy saving and respect for people and the environment.”

Thanks to its invaluable technical partnership with AIEL (the Italian Agroforestry Energy Association), Italia Legno Energia will also provide visitors with the opportunity to find out about all of the latest news in a packed schedule of meetings, conventions and workshops covering topics such as certification, incentives, the design process and choosing the right pellets.

Italia Legno Energia is supported by the Region of Tuscany, the Province and Municipality of Arezzo and the Tuscan Chambers of Commerce.
